conservationist), Maisie Fitter (Editor, Oryx magazine), Peter Scott (Founder of the Wildfowl Trust), Richard Fitter (Author of bird guides), Kathleen
McNamara (American conservationist), Hugh Elliott (British ornithologist and former Director
General of IUCN), Roger Holmes (British ornithologist resident in India, Bill Williams (Former
Engineer-in-Chief, Indian Army, and author of Delhi birdlists, Elliot McClure (American
ornithologist leading studies of Asian bird migration), J.A. Fernandes (?). Three signatures unidentified.
Guy Mountfort (later President, British Ornithologists's Union) signed on the title page of the guide, of which he was second author). Roger Tory Peterson, the first author, also signed that page, as did Julian Huxley
British ornithologist and ethologist, and former Director of Unesco.
# 7 - Salim&Bill : A much younger Bill Harvey sharing a South Indian breakfast with the late Dr Salim Ali at his then house in Madras in 1980, after an early morning bird watch in the Theosophical Society. The Old Man was extremely fond of traditional South Indian breakfasts.
